Samsung have proven themselves to be market leaders in smart home technology and particularly appliances. Their all new AI Family Hub Plus fridge, has a built-in camera that can track what you’re putting in and taking out of the fridge with a simple tap.

This new version is a big step up from the original AI fridges and is one to watch as the technology becomes more widely available and affordable. Samsung’s Hub Plus fridge is a real innovation in smart home technology, and will be of great interest to families who are time poor, yet want to easily prepare fresh nutritious meals.

Features of the Samsung AI Family Hub Plus fridge include:

When you’re watching them, they look like ordinary televisions, but when you’re not, they become an image display for photos or art. That’s smart.

Samsung’s transparent micro LED TV is also in development, but it seems to be having some teething issues and is not yet available to purchase. However, we can expect this technology to improve and become more widely available in the near future.

Both LG and Samsung’s transparent televisions have a solid background that slides up when the TV is on, allowing you to see the screen like a normal TV. This technology is still in its early stages, but we can expect other big electronics innovators such as Sony to follow this trend.

I often wonder where else smart bathroom technology can go.

Kohler is leading the way in the development of innovative new products that will be available this year, including advanced shower heads like the Spa Via hand shower. With this showerhead, you can swap out different attachments like a scrubber or massager powered by a rechargeable battery. Kohler has also announced a new line of advanced and super expensive shower heads, developed by their parent company and to be released at a yet unknown date.

These new products are just a few examples of how smart bathroom tech is advancing in 2024 for those who want to elevate their powder room experience.

Smarter BBQS

An interesting smart bbq/grill development was unveiled at the Las Vegas technology fair 2024.

A 100% electric grill which heats up to 700°F, delivering perfect BBQ without the hassle of gas bottles and messy fuels.

The grill is controlled by an app, allowing for a hands-off experience overall. This app makes it easy to monitor the temperature and cooking progress, so you can sit back and relax while your food cooks to perfection. Plus, the modern design would look great on any patio.

While some BBQ purists may still believe that electric can never measure up to charcoal or gas, this innovative outdoor cooker might even convert a few die-hard old-school sausage sizzlers out there.

They also feature open audio and a rechargeable battery that wirelessly charges.

This is a smart trend that can be useful for anyone living in a hot climate, as they won’t have to carry around multiple pairs of glasses.
