One of the most impressive advancements is in the area of smart locks and smart sunglasses with adjustable tints.

Don’t forget about transparent TVs, furniture which becomes a personal sound systems, and Imax quality projectors which are making it more affordable than ever to create a cinematic experience in the comfort of your own home.

In this article, we will explore some of the latest innovations in smart home tech and how they can enhance our daily lives.

Innovations

  • Smart locks and smart sunglasses with adjustable tints are among the latest advancements in home automation technology.
  • Transparent TVs, Exopod personal sound systems, and XGIMI projectors are making home cinema experiences more affordable.
  • The latest smart home tech innovations offer exciting possibilities for enhancing our daily lives.

Folding Televisions

We have seen some incredible advancements in television technology in recent years, and now we have the folding television.

The seams completely disappear when it unfolds fully, creating a seamless viewing experience that has never seen before. Totally transformative is the 137-inch C Seed N1, which can fold into itself and look like furniture.

It seems unlikely that many people would have a room big enough to house a television of this size when unfolded. However, as with much cutting edge smart tech it may develop into a more practical model to suit average consumers. Time will tell.

The technology in this folding screen is ground breaking. Miniscule gaps at the seams automatically adjust up the brightness of nearby LEDs to hide the folds.

This TV is a demonstration of where smart home tech is heading, and probably faster than we would expect. However, the price will put it out of range for most people.

Meanwhile there are some incredible smart televisions available on the market today worth checking out, while we wait for these new innovations to hit the market at an affordable price. Take a look at the newest smart televisions here.

Samsung AI Family Hub Plus Fridge

Samsung have proven themselves to be market leaders in smart home technology and particularly appliances. Their all new AI Family Hub Plus fridge, has a built-in camera that can track what you’re putting in and taking out of the fridge with a simple tap.

This new version is a big step up from the original AI fridges and is one to watch as the technology becomes more widely available and affordable. Samsung’s Hub Plus fridge is a real innovation in smart home technology, and will be of great interest to families who are time poor, yet want to easily prepare fresh nutritious meals.

Features of the Samsung AI Family Hub Plus fridge include:

  • Built-in camera that can track what you’re putting in and taking out of the fridge with a simple tap for shopping lists
  • Can recognize up to 33 different foods (I don’t have 33 different food items in my fridge)
  • Can plan meals with recipes using images
  • Can alert you when food is going out of date

Overall, the Samsung AI Family Hub Plus fridge is a great example of how smart home technology can revolutionize the way we interact with our appliances. We are excited to see what other innovations Samsung has in store for the future of smart home technology.

The Hub Plus will likely be available later this year but meanwhile there are many wi fi enabled smart fridges to choose from. You can check them out here.

Smart Projectors

Now to the new XGIMI Horizon Max smart projector, which offers an exceptional viewing experience at a very reasonable price.

The projector uses two different light sources, making it brighter than a single light source projector, and it offers a clear picture with stunning colors that rival the quality and price of a high-end smart TV.

The XGIMI Horizon Max also features smart automation, allowing the gimbal to select the most suitable area on the wall or rotate to another location in the room. You can program it to remember these settings as well, making it convenient for different lights at different times of day.

Another innovative smart projector to look out for is the Aladdin 2.0, also from XGIMI. This projector is fashioned like a lamp and offers an attractive and useful smart home addition that is worth keeping an eye out for.

Ugraded Robot Vacuums

These new robot vacuums are solving the traditional problems of robotic sweeping.

In addition to smart projectors, there are also a range of new smart cleaning appliances, which will be available in 2024, such as the Robo Rock S8 Max V Ultra and the Q Revo Max V.

These models are fully automated and feature a smaller dock that connects to your water line, allowing them to refill and drain utomatically.

The S8 Max V Ultra has a flexi arm side brush that reaches out and sweeps up any crumbs along the corners, while the Q Revo Max V has a similar flexi arm that mops the edges. This feature is a much awaited improvement as effectively getting into corners has been an issue for many robot vacuum owners.

These models also offer hot water mopping, voice assistant, and obstacle avoidance with inbuilt camera technology. The smaller water tanks on these models make them more compact as well. Take a look at the newest robot vacs here.

Transparent Televisions

Transparent televisions are the latest innovation in the world of Smart Home products. LG and Samsung are leading the way in this field, with LG’s OLED transparent TV already on the market.

Although it is currently priced out of reach for the average consumer, we can expect prices to come down as the technology becomes more mainstream.

These televisions are remarkable because they blend into the room when not in use, making them perfect for those who want a TV that doesn’t take up too much space or dominate the room.

When you’re watching them, they look like ordinary televisions, but when you’re not, they become an image display for photos or art. That’s smart.

Samsung’s transparent micro LED TV is also in development, but it seems to be having some teething issues and is not yet available to purchase. However, we can expect this technology to improve and become more widely available in the near future.

Both LG and Samsung’s transparent televisions have a solid background that slides up when the TV is on, allowing you to see the screen like a normal TV. This technology is still in its early stages, but we can expect other big electronics innovators such as Sony to follow this trend.

accoustic smart chair

Personal Sound System Furniture

The Exopod Personal Sound System is a unique piece of furniture that offers an unparalleled listening experience.

With 20 speakers and sensors that adjust according to where you’re sitting, the sound quality is exceptional. The design of the chair means that the speakers adjust to be loud but not disturb others nearby, making it like a giant comfortable headphone you can sit in!

The insulating materials used to manufacture the chair contain the sound and don’t allow it to drift beyond the confined environment. This allows the user to listen to music, a book, or watch a movie without disturbing somebody reading or watching television nearby.

It’s perfect for those living in tiny smart homes, as it provides full immersion sound without any disturbance to others.

The Exopod Personal Sound System is a dream piece of furniture for any discerning audiophile who loves smart tech.

Wile it is expensive, the quality and experience it provides are next level. It’s a unique and innovative product with many potential applications beyond personal entertainment, such as in office spaces or public waiting areas.

The Exo Pod is not yet available to purchase but there are other accoustic chairs on the market like the Soldome, an egg shaped 1960’s design which has been recently given a smart makeover with built in technology.

Keep an eye out for the release of exo pod if you have a spare few thousand dollars for a luxury audiophile experience.

Smart Bathroom Tech

I often wonder where else smart bathroom technology can go.

Kohler is leading the way in the development of innovative new products that will be available this year, including advanced shower heads like the Spa Via hand shower. With this showerhead, you can swap out different attachments like a scrubber or massager powered by a rechargeable battery. Kohler has also announced a new line of advanced and super expensive shower heads, developed by their parent company and to be released at a yet unknown date.

These new products are just a few examples of how smart bathroom tech is advancing in 2024 for those who want to elevate their powder room experience.

Smarter BBQS

An interesting smart bbq/grill development was unveiled at the Las Vegas technology fair 2024.

A 100% electric grill which heats up to 700°F, delivering perfect BBQ without the hassle of gas bottles and messy fuels.

The grill is controlled by an app, allowing for a hands-off experience overall. This app makes it easy to monitor the temperature and cooking progress, so you can sit back and relax while your food cooks to perfection. Plus, the modern design would look great on any patio.

While some BBQ purists may still believe that electric can never measure up to charcoal or gas, this innovative outdoor cooker might even convert a few die-hard old-school sausage sizzlers out there.

At the time of writing the app controlled grill is not to market Kenyon make some excellent electric touch control outdoor grills available from here.

Smart Locks

We are witnessing a new era of smart locks that just keep on improving the ease with which we secure our homes. Advancements in technology mean smart locks are becoming more secure, convenient, and user-friendly.

One of the latest innovations in smart locks is the biometric smart lock that uses the palm of your hand to unlock the door.

Philips, who have not traditionally been associated with door locking devices have developed this technology.

The sensor can detect when you’re reaching for the door handle from the inside and unlock it, so you don’t even have to undo the deadlock. This is a clever and useful feature.

Another biometric innovation is LLE’s facial recognition door lock.

This lock integrates with all major smart home platforms and Matter Link, which means their existing locks work with Matter.

Imagine walking up to your door, and having it unlock immediately your face is within camera range. This technology takes a leaf from smart phone technology and certainly sounds handy for when you’re struggling with an armload of groceries, dogs, or kids.

There are a number of facial recognition door locks available on the market today. See them all here.

Smarter Sunglasses

Different types of smart glasses have been around for a while, but this year at the tech expo Dusk revealed their RX sunglasses, which are a great example of smart technology.

These smart sunglasses have a light sensor that adjusts the tint automatically. You can also manually adjust them with a press of your finger.

They also feature open audio and a rechargeable battery that wirelessly charges.

This is a smart trend that can be useful for anyone living in a hot climate, as they won’t have to carry around multiple pairs of glasses.

These sunglasses are a great innovation in smart technology that are worth checking out. I’m sure more smart sunglasses are just around the corner so stay tuned. Meanwhile check out what’s currently available in smart sunglasses here.
